Day 1     Reykjavik

Individual transfer by Flybus shuttle bus from Keflavik airport to your accommodation in Reykjavik. You may explore Iceland’s capital city on your own if time allows.

 
Day 2     Borgarnes - Akureyri

Volcano Crater, Fjords & Mountains

At 09:00, meet our tour guide at Reykjavík Natura Berjaya Iceland Hotels. Set off west through the charming town of Borgarnes. Enjoy a leisurely hike up Grábrók volcano crater, surrounded by a green lava field. Continue north to explore Glaumbær, a beautiful turf house farm and folk museum. Travel through stunning fjords and across mountain passes to arrive in Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland. Enjoy an overnight stay and the opportunity to explore the lovely town of Akureyri

Day 3     Akureyri - Lake Myvatn

The Capital of North Iceland, Lake Mývatn & Geothermal baths

In the morning, discover the charm of Akureyri, often called the capital of North Iceland, and take in the panoramic views over the Eyjafjörður fjord.

Optional whale watching tours are available at 09:00. Available from April through October.

In the afternoon, visit Goðafoss, the majestic “waterfalls of the gods,” then explore the geological wonders of Lake Mývatn. Marvel at the lava formations at Kálfaströnd, the pseudo craters at Skútustaðir, and the tephra cone Hverfjall. Conclude your day by relaxing in the geothermal Mývatn Nature Baths, enjoying a breathtaking view of the entire area.

As night falls, the search for the Northern Lights begins. Join us in seeking out the best spots to witness the mesmerizing Aurora Borealis, a true spectacle of nature’s beauty. Enjoy the peaceful night, surrounded by Iceland’s stunning winter landscape, as you wait for the magical light show to appear in the sky.

Day 4     Lake Myvatn - Egilsstadir

Lava Labyrinth, Hot Springs & Travel East

In the morning, wander through the lava labyrinth at Dimmuborgir, known as “the dark castles,” where local legends say trolls reside. In the afternoon, explore the hot spring area of Námaskarð, with its bubbling mud pools and steaming solfataras. Travel through the uninhabited highlands, resembling a lunar landscape, to reach East Iceland.

Day 5     Egilsstadir - Vatnajokull Glacier - Hofn

It’s a day to admire the dramatic fjord landscape and its tiny fishing villages at the end of twisty roads in the East Fjords and, on the route, visit an attractive stone and mineral collection. Then, in the afternoon, see Vatnajökull – Europe’s biggest glacier visible all over Southeast Iceland. We end the day with a stop at Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon filled with floating icebergs, exploring the extraordinary site and might see seals swimming in the arctic waters. A boat tour between floating icebergs is included in the program from May through October. You can walk on the black sandy beach (The Diamond Beach) where large icebergs get stranded.

Day 6     Vatnajokull Glacier - Skogar - Vik

Vatnajökull National Park, Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach & South Coast

Travel along the southern edge of the Vatnajökull glacier, catching glimpses of Europe’s second-largest national park, home to Iceland’s highest mountains and vast alpine landscapes. In the afternoon, take a scenic drive through the Eldhraun lava field and the sandy deserts of the south coast, framed by towering cliffs, glaciers, and waterfalls. Witness the Icelandic Lava Show, where you can experience real lava being melted to a molten state.

Then walk along the black lava beach of Reynisfjara near Vík. Visit the impressive 60-meter high Skógafoss waterfall in Skógar and continue to Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where an exciting trail leads behind the cascading water. There is a possibility of seeing the Northern Lights during the evening from September to mid-April.

Day 7     Thingvellir - Reykjavik

Icelandic Horses & Golden Circle

Discover the classics today as we journey through the Golden Circle route. Begin at Friðheimar farm, where you’ll learn about the unique Icelandic horse and visit a geothermal greenhouse. Next, arrive at the Geysir geothermal fields, where steam rises from various hot springs and bubbling pools. Watch Strokkur, “the Churn,” erupt every 5-7 minutes. Continue to Gullfoss, the “golden falls,” a stunning double waterfall that plunges 32 meters into the Hvítá river. Head inland to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Upon returning to Reykjavík, enjoy a brief city tour highlighting the world’s northernmost capital.
