From Trondheim, you will embark on a cruise to Bergen, stopping at several charming port along the picturesque Norwegian coastline. During short hiking to Bondhusdalen and cruise on Mostraumen fjord you can marvel at towering waterfalls sparkling blue waters. Include in your trip Flåmsbana train journey and cruise from Flam will bring you to Gudvangen, village that is a home to Viking heritage and folklore. Finally the tour takes you back to Oslo! ItineraryDay 1 OsloWelcome to the Kingdom of Norway – a country with the most beautiful fjords on Earth! Upon arrival, transfer from the airport to a hotel on your own. (Private transfer can be pre-booked in advance). Depending on your arrival time, you can start exploring Norway already today. Walk along the streets and explore the city of the royal family, and the main Karl Johan’s Street, with many shops, bars, and cafes. Meet your Tour Leader at the reception of our hotel for an informative meeting about your tour (In case of later arrivals the meeting will be at next day’s breakfast). Overnight at Thon Terminus or similar. Breakfast buffet in the hotel. Morning departure by train towards Trondheim. Departure from hotel around 07:30a and arrival at Trondheim around 2:30p (depending on train schedule). This journey will offer you stunning views of the Norwegian countryside, longest lake Mjosa and Vinstra region along the way. Upon arrival, take a panoramic city tour of Trondheim ending at the hotel. Afterwards enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Trondheim is the third largest city in the country. Vikings settled on the estuary of the Nidelven River in the tenth century. Before the sixteenth century it was called Nidaros. Green and flowery city, it is pleasant to stroll in the center, in the pedestrian streets and the old quarters. Panoramic tour of the city with a glimpse of the Cathedral of NIDAROS, which is one of the most beautiful Gothic ensembles in Northern Europe. Overnight at Scandic Nidelven or similar. Day 3 Trondheim - KristiansundMeals: Breakfast / Lunch / DinnerEarly Breakfast buffet in the hotel. After breakfast, a bus will transfer you for boarding on Cruise latest by 09:00a. We sail through the wide Trondheim fjord that is bounded by rolling farmland and enter the coast and the open sea. You can disembark in Kristiansund and be driven along the Atlantic Ocean Road (Optional Activity with a supplement), which has been called the world's most beautiful drive. The road meanders along islets and skerries, and afterwards you can reembark in Molde. Lunch on board. Dinner and overnight in superior sea view cabins. (Cruise supplier is either Havila or Hurtigruten, depending on the date). Day 4 BergenMeals: BreakfastBreakfast buffet on board the cruise. The last day of the cruise takes you through a diverse coastal landscape of bare rocky mountains and a maze of sounds and waterways. The great fjords and glaciers are situated inland. Bergen awaits at the end of the voyage. Bergen is the Gateway to the Fjords of Norway. As a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region has the ideal combination of nature, culture, and exciting urban life all year around. Lunch on board of the cruise Arrival to Bergen at 2:45p. Upon arrival meet your local guide and enjoy a 2 hour tour of the city of Bergen. Pass through the most emblematic places such as the Hanseatic Bryggen, with the church of Mary, the Hakon fortress and the famous fish market. Overnight at Scandic Neptun or similar. Day 5 BergenMeals: BreakfastBreakfast buffet in the hotel. After breakfast you will have a chance to admire a view from mountains surrounding Bergen. The Fløibanen funicular in Bergen is one of Norway’s best known and most visited attractions. The journey up to Fløyen (320 m above sea level) takes about 5–8 minutes. After funicular trip you will taste a platter with specialities like smoked salmon, fresh shrimp or hot smoked whale in one of the restaurants at the fish market. At 2:00p sail through the Osterfjord on this roundtrip fjord cruise from Bergen to Mostraumen. Admire views of landmarks like the colorful Bryggen wharf (UNESCO World Heritage List), mountainsides, waterfalls, and the Mostraumen strait. Return to Bergen at 5:30p. Starting and returning points: Torget 2, Bergen Overnight at Scandic Neptun or similar. Breakfast buffet in the hotel. In the morning departure towards Hardangerfjord. Short cruise to reach Bondhus. From here you will start your hiking adventure. The trail is very easy and one way hike that will take ca. 60 minutes. The magnificent icefall and valley have drawn tourists since the mid-1800s. As you walk from the quay in Sundal, a hamlet on the shore of the Maurangerfjord, you are retracing a historic path toward Bondhusvatnet lake. Late afternoon depart towards Voss through Hardanger, known as one of the most romantic destinations in Norway. Fruit production is the core of Hardanger, and in summer the fjord is surrounded by rows of fruit trees blossoming in pink and white. Add the views to snow-covered peaks, and the romantic vibes are complete. Whether you are inside the vessel’s lounges or standing outside on deck, you will have a great views of the scenic landscape dotted with small farms and villages. Dinner and overnight at Scandic Voss or similar. Breakfast buffet in the hotel. Morning departure towards Flam with bus. If you decide to take the optional train ride, the bus will leave you at the train station in Voss. First part of the train journey takes you to Myrdal station. Myrdal station is a mountain railway station and junction, located about 13 km from the village Flåm. There you will switch to Flåmsbana train. Flåmsbana is one of the steepest train lines in the world and the train journey runs through fantastic nature, past the Rallar road, steep mountains, breathtaking waterfalls, through 20 tunnels and offers many viewpoints that will leave you wanting to repeat the journey over and over. Whether you arrived here by bus or train, in Flåm you will *Schedule permitting, join a cruise to Gudvangen, sailing through the idyllic Sognefjord, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Free time in Gudvangen to explore the Open Air Museum - Viking inhabited village (Optional Entrance). Afterwards driving toward Gol with a stop at Borgund Stave Church. Dinner and overnight at Storefjell Resort or similar. Day 8 GolMeals: BreakfastBreakfast buffet in the hotel. Today you will return to Oslo. Continue along the beautiful scenery of Norwegian highlands and coast of Lake Kroderen. In the afternoon, upon arrival in Oslo, you will enjoy a 3-hour sightseeing tour with a local guide. The guided tour of the city includes a visit to the Frogner Park, including more than 200 sculptures of Gustav Vigeland. You will also see the magnificent Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at Thon Terminus or similar. Day 9 OsloMeals: BreakfastBreakfast buffet in the hotel. Enjoy some last-minute shopping for the Viking souvenirs. Transfer to the airport on your own.
