Narsarsuaq - Viking World Heritage, 4 Days

4 Days / 2 locations in Iceland and Greenland

With a large area of South Greenland having been designated UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 2017 - now is the time to visit this fascinating destination and explore the Viking history that makes this region so important! Sail in the iceberg filled fjords or go for a walk in the area, one of the tracks leads all the way to the Inland Ice Cap!

South Greenland

Historic sites from the Viking Age, the Inland Ice Cap, fertile mountains, sheep farms, deep blue fjords with multi-coloured icebergs and calving glaciers - all within short range of your hotel. The region has recently had a large area designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site - making a visit to Narsarsuaq more inticing than ever!

Narsarsuaq

Bordering the UNESCO World Heritage Site area, where Eric the Red decided to settle more than 1000 years ago and where he found inspiration to name the new land: Greenland.

Narsarsuaq is the gateway to South Greenland. Meaning ‘great plain’ in Greenlandic it is today the site of a small international airport.

Formerly a US airbase it is now a small settlement which is largely preoccupied working for the local tourism industry – primarily at the hotel and the airport. The area is offering a huge diversity of experiences from iceberg cruises, to easy hikes in a nearby valley or perhaps a full-day trek to the Inland Ice Cap.
