WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR SLEEPING IN

THE SNOWSUITE?

* SnowHotel guide takes you to our base, Rica Kirkenes, where your main luggages will be stored. It is no need to take the big luggage with you to the SnowHotel, as it will be frozen after a night inside the snow. You will meet the SnowHotel guide at the RECEPTION of RICA KIRKENES HOTEL. Normally the meeting time is at 18 00 hrs pm. It is good to be there in the lobby min 10- 15 minutes before. You will regocnize the guide, as he/she will have KIRKENES SNOWHOTEL sign with.

* Pls, take a small night bag with you, where your important belongins are kept during the SnowSuite night.

* toilet facilities: we are in the suburban wilderness. Toilets, which are warm, are outside of the SnowSuite. You need to walk appr 50 meters to get there. There is no running water, but we have electric- and biotoilets. However, you can wash tooth and hands in the rest room facilities.

*in the SnowSuite there are real beds with real maddrasses. Beds are surrounded by ice blocks. Why we do not have SnowBeds? Because with real beds you won`t get cold in your back during the night.

*You will get a sleeping bag , sheet, wollen socks and a wollen overnighting hat. You will be sleeping inside the sleeping bag. There are curtains as a door in every SnowSuite. Temperature is between -4 Celsius degrees ..... -6 Celsius degrees. Guide of the SnowHotel will explain how to sleep inside the sleeping bag.

* Your outdoor clothing is good to set as a roll and inside to the sleeping back or between the madrass and sleeping bag. More comfortable in the morning to have them on again!

*You need to have with you next: long thermal underwear, pullover. Or jogging dress, breathable.

*Next to the SnowHotel there is a warm Lavo restaurant. In this restaurant there is one room with few beds, just in case, if a person overnighting in the SnowSuite feels not comfortable to sleep inside the snow. In this Lavo restaurant there is staff also during night time to secure safe overnighting in the SnowSuite*CHILDREN: The staff at the Snow Hotel will assess each child's suitability to the cold environment inside the Snow Hotel following an hour or so spent there. Any child not comfortable in the SnowHotel will be looked after by our SnowHotel staff inside the warm Lavo next door to the Snow Hotel. Parents are however fully responsible for the welfare and comfort of their children.

*Breakfast and dinner is served in the Lavo restaurant next to the SnowSuite

* Sauna and shower facilities are in the Rica Kirkenes Hotel, 1 km from Kirkenes Snowhotel. This distance will be done by Kick sleigh

( Arctic Taxi ) or by Snowmobile Taxi ( sleigh pulled by snowmobile ). There are towels in the changing room for the overnighters use.

The sauna is normally ready for the overnighters use at 09 00 am. However, this time is according to the schedule of overnighters.

*Warm outdoor clothing: thermal overalls, hat, mittens, winter boots

and socks are included in the price of overnighting in the SnowHotel

* There is a SnowBar to warm you up before sleeping in the SnowHotel, but it is not advisable to drink too much before going to sleep. It is also extremely important to make a visit the toilet before going in to the sleeping bag.

*It is needed to have a normal condition and a good humor to enjoy of the night in the SnowHotel.

* There are also few strict rules to remember when inside the SnowHotel and SnowSuite: it is not allowed to smoke or make fire inside the any facility of Kirkenes Snowhotel. This is so strictly forbidden, that there are alarms in this case. We do not want to have rain in the SnowHotel!

Remember, we are in the Arctic Climate: take extra layers to keep yourself warm. This is not a fashion show, the purpose is to keep yourself warm!
