Jelgava Hotel

Hotel "Jelgava" was built in 1938 and it is the monument of culture of Latvia. The hotel is private and it can receive 50 visitors.

Jelgava palace - the residence of Duke Ernst Johan Biron. Architect - Francesko Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Foundation-stone was walled in 1738.

From XII to XVII century Jelgava was the capital city of Kurzeme and Zemgale dukedom. It was visited by: Peter I, Katerina II, Wilhelm II, Louis II; musicians - Schumann, Wagner, Rubinstein; card player Kavallo, ghost summoner Kaliostro, and heart breaker Kazanova.
