11 days and 10 nights aboard the M/V Polar Star

There is a magic to the Seventh Continent that is almost inexplicable. Imagine endless white expanses, dramatic snow covered mountain peaks, majestic icebergs that play on the water in multi coloured beams of sunlight and an abundance of wildlife that is truly astounding. The din of penguin rookeries will outdo the clicking of any number of cameras and the chance to see whales, seals and seabirds in the wild is unparalleled.

Itinerary

Day 1
Visiting: Ushuaia - Beagle Channel
On Board the M/V Polar Star
Meals: Dinner
We embark the M/V Polar Star in this colourful and vibrant city and set sail down the Beagle Channel.
Days 2 - 3
Visiting: Drake Passage
On Board the M/V Polar Star
Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
We invite you to make yourself at home onboard. Relax in our observation lounge, visit the bridge, lookout for wildlife from the deck and attend lectures which will provide an excellent introduction to the Antarctic.
Days 4 - 6
Visiting: Antarctic Peninsula - Petermann Island - Cuverville Island
On Board the M/V Polar Star

During these days immerse yourself in the extraordinary beauty and tranquility of the Antarctic. We will have the rare privilege to share a truly untouched wilderness with penguins, seals, whales and birds who exist here in harmony. Zodiacs will take us to penguin rookeries at sites such as Petermann Island and Cuverville Island and en-route cruise past giant white icebergs and stunning snow capped mountains, which reflect in the translucent turquoise waters. Planned landings also include the Vernadsky Station to learn about scientific research that is carried out here, Port Lockroy and Neko Harbour, home to a colony of Gentoo penguins as well as an imposing glacier across from the landing site. interest of birdwatchers with the worlds largest colony of black-bowed mollymawks as well as albatross and petrel.
Days 7 - 8
Visiting: South Shetland Islands - Deception Island - Half Moon Island
On Board the M/V Polar Star
Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
This area is well known for spectacular penguin rookeries which are inhabited by Chinstrap, Gentoo and Adelie penguins as well as its interesting composition volcanic and 80% covered in permanent ice. We plan to make landings at Whalers Bay to feel the effects of the dormant volcano on Deception Island as well as Half Moon Island.
Day 9
Visiting: Drake Passage - Beagle Channel
On Board the M/V Polar Star
Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
As we head back towards Argentina, we keep a constant lookout for whales, dolphins and an array of seabirds.
Day 10
Visiting: Drake Passage - Beagle Channel
On Board the M/V Polar Star
Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Our final lectures, debriefing and farewell reception will conclude a fantastic and unforgettable expedition.
Day 11
Visiting: Ushuaia
On Board the M/V Polar Star
Meals: Breakfast
Our voyage returns us to Ushuaia and we disembark after breakfast to begin our journeys home.
