Scantours has been a member of ASTA, the American Society of Travel Agents, Inc., since its inception in 1984. ASTA is the world\'s largest travel trade association, with over 26,000 members in more than 165 countries.

Scantours is also a member of the Baltic Sea Tourism Commission. a non-profit organization with over 150 members around the world. Its aim is to promote tourism to and within the Baltic Sea Region. Main activities can be divided into the area\'s projects and marketing. Projects include cultural routes around the Baltic Sea Region, such as the Via Hansa and the Via Viking. Scantours Inc. is located in Los Angeles, California and was founded in 1984 by Colin Trigger. Agneta Ekebrand is the president and owner of Scantours Inc.

Scantours Ltd. was founded in London, England in 1967 by Colin Trigger. It is now owned and operated by Ian Woolgar.

The two companies share the same founder, but now operate independently from one another.
