Day 1     Oslo
Accommodation: Thon Hotel Opera

Arrival to the airport of Oslo – Gardermoen. Pick-up your rental car, and drive to the centre of the city. We recommend a visit to the famous Vigeland sculpture park, the Viking-ship Museum where the best preserved Viking ships ever found are on display, the Fram Museum where the entire original Arctic exploration ship Fram is exhibited with its original interior and inventory, the Kon-tiki Museum which contains original vessels and objects from Thor Heyerdal’s many expeditions or one of the many other interesting sights in Oslo.

Day 2     Oslo - Telemark Region - Morgedal
Accommodation: Hotel Morgedal
Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning departure from Oslo and travel through the region of Telemark. Its natural scenery, reliable climate and rich cultural traditions make Telemark one of Norway’s most popular and well organized holiday destinations. Telemark is world famous for the skiing technique of the same name. Stop en route to visit the wooden stave church in Heddal, the largest of Norway’s surviving stave churches, the oldest part of the church, the chancel, dates back to 1147. Continue to Morgedal, the cradle of modern ski-sport.

Day 3     Telemark Region - Hardanger Region - Rosendal
Accommodation: Rosendal Fjord Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the Telemark region to drive towards the beautiful Hardanger area dominated by the Hardanger Fjord, passing the mountains of Haukeli and on route to Rølda. Røldal is a mountain village, 400 metres above sea-level, and the site of a well-known stave church dating from the 14th century. Drive to Skånevik, also known as “the pearl of Sunnhordland” and take a ferry to Utåker. Arrival to the romantic village of Rosendal, located by the fjord and home of the Rosendal Baronial Manor.

Day 4     Sognefjord - Sogne Mountains - Skjolden
Accommodation: Skjolden Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning departure from Rosendal and drive to Utne in the middle of the Hardanger Fjord district. Ferry to Kvanndal, and pass through Voss. Drive up the famous Stalheim road, with its twists and turns up through 13 hairpin bends, the steepest road in Northern Europe, with stunning views of the Sivlefossen and the Stalheimfossen waterfalls. Continue to Gudvangen by the Nærøyfjord, which is included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, the wildest and most beautiful branch of the Sognefjord, and take the cruise on the “fjord of the dreams” to Kaupanger. Continue driving on the shores of the Lustra fjord to Skjolden, located at the innermost part of the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world.

Day 5     Geiranger - Forde
Accommodation: Rica Sunnfjord Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning departure from Skjolden and drive up to the mountainous region of Sognfjellet. Pass the wooden stave church in Lom, dating back to the 12th century and still in use as the principal church in Lom, and drive to the village of Grotli and further on to Geiranger, the Geiranger Fjord is one of the most famous fjords in the world with its waterfall the Seven Sisters and the Friar. In the afternoon take a cruise in the fjord from Geiranger to Hellesylt. From Hellesylt drive the panoramic route along the shores of the Nordfjord to Førde.

Day 6     Forde - Bergen
Accommodation: Augustin Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning departure from Førde driving down towards the Sognefjord to the mountains of Gaular, which rise between Jølster and Sognefjord and constitute an ancient ridge of brooding hills strewn with lakes, rivers and waterfalls, arriving in Dragsvik. From there ferry to Vangsnes (not included). Continue across the amazing mountains of Vika, passing the village of Voss and arrival in the old Hanseatic town Bergen, capital of Western Norway and gateway to the fjords, in the afternoon. We recommend a tour of Bergen; visit the Fish and Flower Market, the old harbour of Bryggen, and the Hanseatic quarters. It is possible to take a ride on the funicular up to Mount Fløien to admire the magnificent views over the city and the surrounding islands. Accommodation at the Augustin Hotel or similar

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Bergen, drive to the airport and return the rental car.
