Kirkenes is the most remote outpost in mainland Norway. About 400km north of the Arctic Circle, the town of about 6,000 inhabitants is perched at the edge of the Varanger Fjord and the border with Russia!

Take the train through the inland of Sweden from Dalarna in the south, to Lapland in the north.
