Explore the most interesting sites of the four Nordic capitals; Helsinki, by the Baltic Sea, known for interesting architecture and design, with the beautiful Helsinki cathedral, Stockholm, with numerous canals and a picturesque old town, Copenhagen, with the Little Mermaid and historical castles and, finally, Oslo, beautifully situated between the Oslofjord and the forested hills.

Itinerary

 
Day 1     Stockholm
Accommodation: Clarion Sign Hotel
Meals: Dinner

Arrival in Stockholm according to your own schedule and transfer on your own to your hotel. Stockholm is beautifully situated on the water, with numerous canals and a picturesque old town.

Your tour escort will meet you at 7.50pm (before dinner) in the hotel lobby, where you’ll also meet your fellow travelers.

Dinner and accommodation in superior rooms at Clarion Hotel Sign, a first class centrally located hotel.

 
Day 2     Stockholm
Accommodation: Clarion Sign Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, meet your driver and private coach which will be with you the following days of your tour.

Discover Stockholm during a 4 hours city sightseeing with a local guide. Main sights of interest are the old town (Gamla Stan), the Royal Palace, the Parliament buildings, the Island of Djurgården and the City Hall with its famous golden and blue halls (entrance to City Hall included).

Afternoon free in Stockholm. We can recommend a visit to the impressive Vasa Museum or one of the popular canal tours.

Accommodation in superior rooms at Clarion Hotel Sign.

Please note that dinner is not included today because our experience shows that in Stockholm guests prefer to eat out at a restaurant of their own choice. Your tour escort will gladly assist you with table reservations.

 
Day 3     Stockholm - Helsinki
Accommodation: Overnight Ferry, Stockholm - Helsinki
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

After breakfast, morning free in Stockholm for exploring this beautiful city, often called the Venice of the North because of its many canals and waterways. We can recommend the 2 hours boat tour “Under the Bridges of Stockholm”. Afternoon coach transfer for embarkation on a luxurious cruise ferry of the Tallink Silja Line. 4.45pm: Start of your cruise to Helsinki, sailing slowly through the Stockholm archipelago past numerous small islands.

Buffet dinner on board. Choice of entertainment, shops, casino, bars. Accommodation is in 2-berth outside cabins (seaside) with shower/WC. We recommend bringing an overnight bag for this cruise, to avoid having to carry suitcases to and from the cabin.

 
Day 4     Helsinki - Stockholm
On Board the Overnight Ferry, Helsinki to Stockholm
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

Enjoy your buffet breakfast, as you sail into Helsinki.

Visit Helsinki in the morning during a 3 hours city sightseeing with local guide. Sights of interest are the Sibelius Monument and Park, the Senate Square and the Cathedral (no entrances included). Afternoon free for shopping or exploring this bustling city on the Baltic. 17.00 hrs: Embarkation on Tallink Silja Line ferry for return cruise to Stockholm. Buffet dinner on board and accommodation in 2-berth outside cabins (seaside) with shower/WC.

 
Day 5     Stockholm - Copenhagen
Accommodation: Phoenix Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

After a delicious buffet breakfast on board, arrive back in Stockholm at 09.30am. The tour continues by coach through the pleasant countryside of Southern Sweden towards Jönköping by Lake Vättern.

Stop for lunch en route at local restaurant. Continue through the provinces of Småland and Skåne to the city of Malmö. Cross over the Øresund Bridge to arrive in wonderful Copenhagen during the early evening.

Dinner and accommodation in superior rooms at Phoenix Copenhagen Hotel, located in the city center by the charming Nyhavn harbour, with numerous waterside restaurants and vintage sailing ships, and close to the Ströget pedestrian street.

 
Day 6     Copenhagen
Accommodation: Phoenix Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast at your hotel, followed by a 3 hours sightseeing tour of Copenhagen with a local guide. Sights of interest are the Christiansborg palace, the Royal theatre, the City Hall, the Royal palace Amalienborg, the old harbour of Nyhavn, the Little Mermaid, the Gefion fountain and the Rosenborg castle (no entrances included).

Afternoon free in Copenhagen. We can recommend a tour down the popular pedestrian shopping street – Strøget, or a visit to Rosenborg Palace. You might also be interested in visiting the famous Tivoli Gardens (entrance not included).

Day 7     Copenhagen - Oslo
Accommodation: Overnight Ferry, Copenhagen - Oslo
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

After a tasty Danish buffet breakfast, morning free in Copenhagen for shopping and sightseeing. Afternoon transfer by coach to DFDS Seaways terminal for your overnight cruise to Oslo, departing at 4.30 pm.. Enjoy a delicious Scandinavian buffet dinner as you cruise gently up the Kattegat on your way to Oslo. There is dancing and entertainment on board, or you may prefer to sit out on deck and watch the sunset. Accommodation is in 2-berth outside cabins with shower/WC. We recommend bringing an overnight bag for this cruise, to avoid having to carry suitcases to and from the cabin.

 
Day 8     Oslo
Accommodation: Clarion Hotel the Hub
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

Scandinavian buffet breakfast is being served on board, as you sail up the exciting Oslo Fjord to reach the Norwegian capital at 09.15am.

Explore Oslo on a 3 hours city sightseeing tour with a local guide and enjoy panoramic views of the Opera house, Karl Johans gate – Oslo’s main street, Old town Christiania, Akershus Castle and Fortress, and the Royal Palace. Picturesque ride through some of Oslo’s prettiest neighborhoods to the Vigeland Park (entrance free of charge) with its more than 200 sculptures.

Entrance is included to the Fram Museum - The Polar Ship Fram, the strongest wooden ship ever built and still holds the records for sailing farthest north and farthest south.

Afternoon free in Oslo. Oslo is a great choice to experience architecture, museums and other attractions. Take a stroll through the new central city district Bjørvika and walk between Oslos' latest architectural additions; the Deichman Library and Munch Museum. We also recommend a stroll along Aker Brygge, a lively pier with numerous restaurants and departures for sightseeing boats on the Oslofjord.

Dinner and accommodation at Clarion Hotel The Hub, centrally located close to the Karl Johan shopping boulevard.

 
Day 9     Oslo
Meals: Breakfast

Buffet breakfast at your hotel. Transfer on your own to Oslo Gardermoen Airport in connection with your flight home.

Possibility to add the FJORDS OF NORWAY extension tour.

For guests taking the extension, departure from Oslo by private coach is after breakfast.
