Day 3 KolasinMeals: Breakfast / DinnerKolasin, Thursday After breakfast, depart Tirana and travel to the town of Shkodra, a cultural center and one of Albania’s oldest cities. Drive by the ruins of Rozafa Castle, set on a hill high above the city, then cross the border into Montenegro. Visit to Moraca Monastery the largest medieval Orthodox monument in Montenegro built in 1252. Continue to Kolasin, the whole area is surrounded by the thick pine forest of the Bjelasica Mountain and is a popular skiing and air spa resort. Dinner and overnight in Kolasin. Day 5 DubrovnikMeals: Breakfast / DinnerDubrovnik, Saturday See Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, and Cetinje, the historical capital of the country, set at the foot of Mount Lovcen on your journey today. Stop and visit the Cetinje Museum, presenting the history of Montenegro. Then, drive down a spectacularly steep road to the Bay of Kotor, the deepest fjord in Southern Europe. Cross into Croatia head to Dubrovnik, set on the Adriatic. Overnight at Hotel Lacroma or similar. Day 6 DubrovnikMeals: BreakfastDubrovnik, Sunday This morning, a walking tour takes you through Old Dubrovnik. See the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column, and Sponza Palace. Then on to view the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the city your way. Overnight. Day 7 SplitMeals: Breakfast / DinnerSplit, Monday Travel north along the spectacular Adriatic coast to Split. Take a sightseeing tour featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Plus, see the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and Cathedral of St. Duje. Overnight at Atrium Hotel or similar. Day 8 Trogir - Plitvice LakesMeals: Breakfast / DinnerTrogir and Plitvice Lakes, Tuesday Head to Trogir, the center of artistic activities in Croatia. Scholars from all over the world gather here to study and paint. Next, travel to splendid Plitvice Lakes National Park. Then, have your camera at the ready as you take a walking tour around several of the lower lakes.
