The Rabener’s loved everything that was booked and especially the Hurtigruten experience. Thank you for your expertize with Hurtigruten, and they loved the M/STrollfjord.
Iceland was great and the Grand hotel a good place for them.
Nice trip. The weather was cold, rainy and windy most of the time, but we enjoyed it anyway. Our driver/guide made the trip somewhat personalized, stopping at some places that particularly interested some members of the party. Most of the other people were Australians, which was fine, although we had not expected that. There were a number of problems with the bus, including losing the muffler after we had gone through a river. This delayed us for about an hour while the driver, a few passengers and a park ranger dealt with that. None of the other bus problems had much effect. Iceland was more teeming with tourists than I had expected, although once you got away from the popular sites, there was plenty of tranquility, too. Food in the hotels was very adequate, although the breakfast at the Hotel Cabin in Reykjavik on the first morning was a mob scene. This trip is definitely a winner as long as you know what to expect and are prepared.
I thought you might want to hear Geri Shields comments (see below). You did a great job.
Thanks so much!

It was amazing!!!!!!!! You are absolutely the best! We got in the hikes we wanted to do. Everything went smoothly. All the accommodations were outstanding. It was spectacular. Thank you so much for everything! We did make it to the top of Kjerag, but did not climb on top of the kjeragbolten. That was a little too scary with all the wind, but we made it, and the views were stunning. I've sent along a few pictures. One is a view from Kjerag. One is from monastery ruins on Hovedoya. And the last 2 are from 2 separate hikes we did while in Balestrand.
Again, we cannot thank you enough. It was perfect!!!
Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I have been at school alot. Also, this heat just saps me. I have been thinking about your and Ulla's request for input. Either the tour was really great or we are too dumb to know it wasn't. Really, the itinerary and write ups were exactly what we got. Our only hangups were with placement in hotels and that wasn't really bad. Our Stockholm Scandic put us in a room in a sub main area that you couldn't get to from here. Several of our party were there so after we buddied up, we found our way. The room was NOT below ground and we did have a window and it was equipped with all the necessaries and up to date. There also was a luggage delivery foul up but our tour director, Rafael handled it with the hotel. He was on top of everything as we went along. He should get kudos and praise should be forwarded to Borealis by Ulla. His name is Rafael Azula. He handled the mixed group very well. I understand just enough Spanish to tell when he was giving them more or less, in commentary, than to the English speakers. I am happy to say, that he was equal in every respect. He shared many observations about history and customs and was very personable. The local guides hired by Borealis, gave us great city tours. Our group was just the right size (29) and right age group so that we were comfortable moving about. Rafael was also very knowledgeable about logistics --- so our group got preferential seating etc.
Suz, trim this or synthesize this for Ulla's purposes. We are recommending this type of trip to our friends as a way to manage travel, old age, getting the most for our money.
Hello Ulla-The White family had a wonderful trip to Iceland and thank you for all you did to make it happen. They liked all of the accommodations and places they visited.
Hope to send you more business!
One of the best vacations I have ever had. Anne Knudsen was a great tour guide and the group was very nice. I especially liked the time in Sweden and Norway. Have recommended it to friends that travel. And a big thank you for making it possible on a state employee's budget. The only thing I would change is to take SAS instead of United next time. I am hoping to maybe try your Iceland Northern Lights tour someday. I certainly would use your agency again.
I’m sorry I didn’t reply to you earlier. They had a fabulous time in Norway and have sent me tons of pictures. The only negative was the Flam railway to them—couldn’t get good pictures.
But that’s all the negative.
Thanks again for all your help,

We had a really nice time. The amount of time we spent in each area was perfect, the hotels were very nice. We especially enjoyed Bergen as it was just a real livable city. Our itinerary gave us enough time in each area to either do a little biking, touring and we even headed to Voss for some rafting. Although this trek was similar to Norway in a nutshell it was on a little less traveled route which we appreciate - we never felt the crowds were overwhelming.
I appreciate you taking us on in such a short time frame.
