Henry Taylor Steinberg

Ulla - A short note to express our gratitude for a wonderful St. Petersburg "Visa Free Tour" via Scan Tours. Kayta, our guide and host did an excellent job with her portion of the adventure. She is very knowledgeable and does an excellent job. The hotel was perfect and in an excellent location. The nights on the ferry were pleasant and would suggest upgrading to a larger cabin on future voyages.
Thanks for your services as everything went as planned with no problems whatsoever.
Thanks for a great job.

Sandra Runk

Dear Bernice
I wanted to thank you so much for organizing our trip to Estonia for us. The arrangements were seamless, with everything working out "exactly" as planned. The accommodations met our needs, the tour guides were excellent and bus driver incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. Once they got to know us and to understand why we were there, they "detoured" the route a couple of times to ensure we saw important things as we travelled from one town to the next and explored the towns my inlaws were born in. The tours, entrance fees, meals, accommodations all connected with no gliches or omissions.
I would highly recommend your company to anyone and want to thank you again for making a very special family event so easy for us.

Have attached a photo. Hope you can open it. Again thank you for arranging a once in a lifetime vacation.
Sincerely,
Sandra Runk

We are back and had a great time. You and Scantours did a great job and everything went well, without any hitches. Even had lunch with the saxophonist from Springsteen’s band at the fish market in Bergen. Also, the hotel in Bergen was really nice so feel free to recommend it. It also was a good location- next door to the Hanseatic Museum. Will certainly recommend you and look forward to booking other trips through you.

Rick Kramer

Hello Ulla.
As I had mentioned previously Rick Kramer had sent me an email practically right-off the plane on their return to say they had had a wonderful trip…he expounded on that with me on Wednesday and here were a few of his comments…ALL mostly good I might add!
They liked ALL of their Hotels….they were particularly pleased with the Thon Hotel Opera in Oslo..staff was great, breakfast delightful and above they loved the location!! The Thon was so convenient to the Bus/Train combination that they took up to Myrdal/Flam….Mr. Lodl was a bit under the weather when they got to Oslo, so they did not do as much sightseeing as I would have liked to see them do, however they did take the "Hop-on-hop-off" Bus Tour that was quite lovely.
KVIKNE'S was nice..the town is lovely, the Hotel Restaurant very good, but they did comment that the rooms looked dated and "tired"..they had a clean room, but everything needed some "up-dating" if you will.
BERGEN and the Hotel Augustin were terrific!! Apparently there is a restaurant at the back of this Hotel…they were not sure if it actually belongs to the Augustin or not, but it was WONDERFUL…some of the best food they had on the entire trip!!
Cruise up the Sognefjord quite nice.
Copenhagen ---they enjoyed their stay here and very much liked the IMPERIAL HOTEL....accommodations were modern, spacious and clean… good restaurant(s), staff lovely and location exquisite!! They talked to other travelers who did NOT like their locations…here their sightseeing consisted of a "Water" Tour..nice Canals and of course Tivoli Park were all great places to visit.
Stockholm---likewise the REISEN was very, very nice…I particularly like this property because it's sort of between the Gamla Stan and other parts of the City of Stockholm. Both gentlemen were stunned by the beauty of Sweden's "Venice of the North" Capitol!! They took both the Water Tour and the "Hop-on-hop-off" Tour which is a great way to see Stockholm by BOTH land and sea so to speak.
All-in-all it was a splendid trip (their Baltic Cruise was also very nice) and we thank you for your work on this Ulla….
A special mention that Mr. Kramer wanted me to make was that all of your explanations and comments, especially those about "Arrival" & "Departure" transfer options were in his words "Spot on"!! The explicitness of the comments was very much appreciated, since this was their first trip to Scandinavia…

Thanks Ulla and hopefully I can talk to you soon again about other clients going to beautiful Scandinavia…RD J

Hello! Yes, we are rested and have begun school and are finishing the home improvement projects we started before we left. Did I say we are rested?! Anyway, thanks so much for your work on our travel schedule and hotel arrangements. We loved our trip and I think the boys will be talking about it for years to come. We did lots of hiking to different waterfalls and sights; the view of Flam in our photos is unforgettable. Stephen and Sidney managed to hike Preikestolen (604 moh) and they have the t-shirts and pictures to prove it! Ha!

We weren’t sure how well the boys would settle into Norwegian food as Stephen and I made very few concessions for burgers or American food, but they did very well. It certainly helped to have hotels with such lovely breakfast smorgasbords! When we got home, Stephen was able to duplicate the delicious fish soup we had over there!

Each city was a different experience and we appreciate your knowledge of that. There were plenty of things to love about each place. Thank you again for your hard work on the schedule, hotels and travel arrangements. It was a great relief for Stephen and me to know that all the arrangements were taken care of. I know it was difficult for you to pull it all together with so little notice and I do apologize for any inconvenience on your part.

Although my favorite places were Bergen and Flam, we made a friend in Stavanger with whom we are touching bases on Facebook. She made the prettiest red doily and then gave it to us during one of our ferry rides.

Leif loved seeing both of his names Leif and Haakon on streets and signs throughout the country and King Haakon’s castle was very meaningful to him...finally a chance to walk the grounds of his namesake!

Sigh! We have a lot of special memories to enjoy and we talk not of if we return to Norway, but when! Thanks for doing your job so well!

Gratefully Yours,

Stephen, Canda, Sidney and Leif Eilertson

Subject: Four Capitals and Fjords of Norway Tour (beginning July 3, 2012)

Dear Office Manager:

My husband and I recently completed Scantours’ Four Capitals and Fjords of Norway Tour beginning on July 3, 2012. Overall we were very pleased with the tour and wanted to provide you some feedback.

First, we cannot say enough about the great Tour Director, Anne-Marie Reinholdt, and the bus driver Benta (spelling?). Anne-Marie was very knowledgeable of all the counties visited. The bus trips would not have been as enjoyable without her excellent commentary. She was out-going and friendly and also provided helpful information on things to do during our free time. Her organizational skills keep the tour at the appropriate pace allowing sufficient time for the activities promised. When I hurt my ankle on the trip, she was immediately there with a bandage wrap to loan to me. Benta was an excellent driver and appears to have many years of experience. He did fantastic maneuvering on narrow steep mountain roads, through numerous tunnels and in tight spaces in the city. We felt very comfortable riding with him.

For the most part, the tour lived up to what it promised. We enjoyed the diversity of each of the cities and the beautiful fjords and landscape of the countryside in Norway. You planned the amount of free time well to allow folks to see other things of interest to them. It was also a nice experience traveling overnight on the ferries. In addition, the meals provided on the tour were very good.

To help improve the tour we have a couple suggestions. First, the guided tour of Copenhagen was very disappointing and did not include everything promised. The guide gave too many details while standing in a garden and outside parliament. We would have enjoyed seeing more things from a bus or visiting/touring even one site rather than taking so long learning history that is soon forgotten. Suggest a different guide and additional places to see. Second, when it’s recommended for everyone to take a travel bag for overnights on the ferry, suggest the bus have higher compartments above the seats where travel bags can fit, not just purses and coats. You cannot fit over forty travel bags and suitcases under the bus.

We have great memories from our trip and will recommend Scantours to our friends and family.
Thank you!

Sincerely,

Steve and Leann Androvich

Just wanted to let u know how well all the scan tours arrangements worked out. All the drivers were punctual and professional, and very good drivers. Cars were nice, roomy and clean. Hotels have all been very good also. Please extend our thanks to Scan as well.
We are in Tallinn...last two days. This has been a very interesting trip. I expected to enjoy it of course, but have liked it more then I thought I would. Getting a little tired though, and ready to head home in a few days!
Thanks again for your help. I'll call when I get home and settled.
