Hello, Ulla,

We are home safe and sound. The tour was fantastic. Our group consisted of 12 persons ( six couples) in a bus for 50 passengers. Early in the season- they said.
Hotels were all good, we had no problem and I think nobody had any from the group. We landed in a German speaking group[. For me it was OK but my husband speaks only English. The guide was very good in BOTH languages.
One thing we and the group did not like. The 8:00pm start for the special dinners in each capital. We mentioned it to the guide, but the Italian and the Spanish
prefer the late dinner....so...
I just would like to thank you for all the help .
Sincerely,
Esther

Hello Agneta and Berniece,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all of your help with the IWF group. As we both know, there were quite a few challenges surrounding this booking, and I am thankful that we were able to finalize everything in the end. So, I really wanted to say thanks again for all of your good help.

Hi Ulla,
I wanted to let you know that we arrived home safe and sound. We had a wonderful time, and enjoyed all the hotels and all the places. Our senses were overloaded! I guess our favorite was the cottage in the Lofotons, but the hotels were all fun. The only hotel that was not so good was the one in Jonkoping, but it ended up being across the street from where my great grandfather had lived! (even though none of the buildings were still there), so that made up for the scenes of wild west American on the walls of the room. Everyone was friendly, and helpful, and we have wonderful memories. You did a great job for us, and the experiences were so varied, that we felt that we experienced a good cross section of Norway and Sweden. The only real problem, is that I found out that my great great grand father was actually from Ronneby. If only I had know that ,I would have gone there too! So, If I am ever rich, I will set up another trip to visit there, but I am not likely to ever be rich, and I think we used up all our travel money on this trip. We just followed all your directions and all worked out fine, except the last day. Getting back to Stockholm was hard, because someone jumped onto the train tracks, and threw off all the trains in Sweden, so that was a bit of an ordeal, but we were not alone in that.

Our trip to Iceland was one of the best trips we have taken! We appreciate that we had wonderful weather and were lucky to see the Northern Lights on four of the eight nights we were in Iceland. Although the trip was billed as a Northern Lights adventure it was much more than that. We had the opportunity to see and do lots of things that gave us a real taste of the landscape and life of Iceland. Our guide, Anna Laura, was fabulous. She brought a broad experience of her life of farming, fishing, glacier guiding and knowledge of the history and culture of this amazing land. There were several aspects of the trip that we did not fully anticipate but worked out just fine.
Although the temperatures we relatively mild given the northern latitude, the wind chill could be fierce and we were glad to have lots of layers and wind proof outer wear.
There was an opportunity for hiking and climbing particularly in some icy and treacherous areas that was more demanding than I anticipated. We were glad to have brought Yak Trax devices to attach to our shoes and our guide did have these for rent or purchase. These devices were essential. Anna did have good guidance about the potentially dangerous areas we encountered and she had an ice ax to clear the path when needed. This was more challenging physically than a regular bus tour but we enjoyed it.
The tour group of 45, mostly Brits and other Europeans, were a very compatible group that really coalesced during our week together. The group included a fairly broad age range- I would guess late 20's to early 70's-all were ready for an adventure. Our bus driver, Haldor, was a man of few words but with prodigious skills as driver and luggage wrangler.
The food was consistently good even the horse steak. The accommodations were a little spartan in some places but quite comfortable and well maintained.
It was a trip of a life time for us!
We would be happy to share our experience with anyone who is considering a wintertime visit to Iceland with the reminder our guide gave us several times, "You are having the best of luck with the weather." We are even curious about what Iceland is like in the summer.
Thanks for your help in arranging the trip.

Northern Lights Exploration Tour winter of 2014

Thank you for inquiry, the trip was wonderful, very impressive. It is pity that we couldn't catch any photo of Northern Light due to low sun activity or cloudy sky.
Anyway, we love Iceland and wish to come back
Best regard!
