A new ferry connection between Helsinki and St. Petersburg was opened in April 2010. M/S Princess Maria is a modern passenger ferry built in Finland and it accomodates up to 1638 passengers and 395 vehicles. Passengers of all nationalities travelling on Princess Maria can enjoy St. Petersburg for 72 hours without a Russian visa. The ferry line operator is St. Peter Line and there are three weekly departures between the two cities.

NB: Passengers requiring a Schengen visa need a multivisa for the cruise. A single visa is valid only for one way trip
