Day 1     Odessa
On Board the M/S Dnieper Princess
Meals: Dinner

Arrival in Odessa and embarkation at 4:00 PM. You will enjoy a cocktail reception and informational meeting before dinner.

 
Day 2     Odessa
On Board the M/S Dnieper Princess
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Odessa is an outstandingly beautiful port city with over one million inhabitants rich in culture and history! Particular points of interest include the Museum of Architecture and the Museum of Western & Oriental Art. Your morning tour leads you to all major attractions such as the Opera House and the famous and unique Potemkin Stairs which rise 460 feet from the sea to the upper levels of the city. After lunch on board, the remainder of the day is free for you to explore this bustling city on your own! You can partake in an optional tour of the Fine Arts Museum and in the evening there is an optional Classical Music Performance. We depart at early morning.

 
Day 3     Odessa

Day 4     Sevastopol
On Board the M/S Dnieper Princess

We arrive at 9.00am at our first stop along your Dnieper river cruise, the historic site of the tragic and bloody Crimea War of 1853-56, the city of Sevastopol. French, English and Turkish forces attacked the city and the battle was immortalized in both poetry and prose. One of the Russian defenders was a young Lev Tolstoy. The city today is still an important naval port. Upon arrival, you wil enjoy a panorama city tour of Sevastopol. The highlight of your tour is the visit to the Panorama Museum and its unique piece of art entitled the "Panorama of the Sevastopol Battle", featuring a three dimensional circular piece of art representing a 24-hour period in the defense of the city during the Crimean War. It is the world's largest artwork of its kind.

Optional excursion to Bakchisarai.

In the evening there is an optional concert of songs and dances performed by the renown 70 member "Black Sea Fleet"

 
Day 5     Sevastopol - Yalta

Today we will have a full day excursion to Yalta including a tour of the Livadia Palace.

Day 6     Kherson
On Board the M/S Dnieper Princess
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Arrive in Kherson at 3:00 PM. This naval and river port city was founded in 1778 and is situated at the mouth of river Dnepr. Its population is 300.000 people. We will take a boat trip along the Dnper Delta. We depart at 6:00 PM.

 
Day 7     Zaporozhye

Zaporozhye is a small town full of historical monuments. It was founded in 1770 simultaneously with the Alexander Fortress, which was built on the left bank of the Dnieper, across the island of Hortica. Zaporozhye is world renown as the home to the fierce Cossack Warriors! After arriving at 11:00 AM and embark on a city tour: Enjoy a tour by motor-coach including stops at the Hortica Island and the museum of Zaporo Cossacks. There is an optional Cossack Show in the afternoon. We depart at 6:00 PM.

 
Day 8     Kremenchug
On Board the M/S Dnieper Princess

Today while sailing we enjoy a celebration of Ukraine National Day with lectures, cooking lessons and other activities. We arrive in Kremenchug at 4:00 PM. Kremenchug has evolved into an important industrial city of a half million inhabitants. Today's stop will allow you to meet local Ukrainians in their every day environment. After arrival, you will enjoy a walking tour of the city center. Your Tour Directors will take you on a casual stroll through the city center highlighted by buildings reminiscent of Stalin's Soviet era. We depart at 8:00 PM.

 
Day 9     Kanev - Cherkassy

We arrive at 1:00pm and begin a morning walking tour: Your tour features a visit to the birthplace of Taras Shevchenko, Ukraine' famous poet and painter. His achievements in the arts made him a national hero.

In the afternoon you can choose an optional excursion to Kolkhoz or a communal farm. We depart at 6:00 PM.

 
Day 10     Kiev
On Board the M/S Dnieper Princess

We arrive at 8:00 AM. Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, is situated on the banks of the rivers Dnieper and Dniestar. The city has recently celebrated its 1000-year anniversary making it one of the oldest cities in this region. With a population of over 2,5 million inhabitants Kiev is the center for business, education and the arts, being home of 18 universities, 7 theaters, and 15 major museums, as well as many significant historical monuments such as "The Golden Port", St. Sofia Church, and the Church of Berestoli, where the founder of Moscow, Jurij Dolgoruki is buried. After arrival we enjoy a morning city tour: Get to know this historic city during your morning city tour which, among others, features stops at the well-known churches of St. Sofia and the gargantuan statue of Mother Ukraine which stands high on a hill outside of the city overlooking the river as she keeps watch over her "children". The afternoon is free to explore on your own. In the evening you may choose an optional Ukraine National Choir performance.

 
Day 11     Kiev
On Board the M/S Dnieper Princess
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

In the morning we will enjoy a tour of the Lavra Caves (tombs). In the afternoon you can explore the city on your own. Take the funicular just steps away from your ship to Kreschatik street, Kiev's main avenue full of cafes, hotels and shops where you can buy those last minute souvenirs and presents! You may also enjoy an optional excursion to the Museum of Wooden Architecture "Pirogovo". Tonight we will have a gala farewell dinner.

 
Day 12     Kiev
