Vinstra is located in the mountains, 930 metres above sea level, on the Peer Gynt Way in the middle of Peer Gynt's kingdom, and centres its operations around experiences of Norwegian nature and culture. Magnificent location, ideal walking terrain with well marked trails. There are activities based on the various cultural influences of the Peer Gynt tradition and the rich folklore of the Gudbrandsdalen valley. Dogsled driving, snow-shoe walks in the moonlight, rafting on the Sjoa River and kayak trips on Lake Fefor and Gudbrandsdalslågen River. It is centrally located for trips to the Rondane and Jotunheimen mountains and the fjords of western Norway.
