This ancient Black Sea shipping port was first documented 400 BC as it stood on the crossroads of the east and the west. Romans, Bulgarians, Turks and finally Romanians ruled this city of approximately 100,000 inhabitants as of today. The city is best know as a gateway to the Danube Delta a nature wonderland protected by UNESCO.
