Osorno, Chile

Osorno is next to Río Rahue in the juncture of the Cordillera de la Costa and the western plains, in an area involving the cities of La Unión and Río Bueno on the north up to Río Negro, and Purranque to the south.

The natural beauties characteristic of Patagonia are incremented with a strong agricultural work, which produces a landscape with richly laboured farms.

Osorno has a population of nearly 100.000 inhabitants. Due to its location, it is a strategic point for the touristic distribution of the southern region. It is 913 km. from Santiago and 260 km. from San Carlos de Bariloche, in Argentina.

Numerous houses in the city are an evidence of the important German presence in the area.
