Kapp Linne, Svalbard, Norway

Furtherst out in Isfjorden is peaceful Kapp Linné, where you can enjoy a comfortable stay far away from civilization. Previously Isfjord Radio was the telecommunication hub for all communication with the main land, however this has now been replaced by broadband.

During summer, the rich bird life at Kapp Linné is overwhelming. Eider ducks nest right up to the steps of the station, and the wetlands just behind the building have been designated a bird sanctuary. Several species of wading birds spend the summer here. The flora is also rich, and reindeer can be seen grazing on the nearby plateau.
