Jutland, Denmark

Jutland, the largest area in Denmark, is divided into the North, West, East, South-East and South regions.

North Jutland is known for it's fabulous scenery and, as the northernmost part of Denmark, it's extra hours of sunshine. Three seas meet in this area. The North Sea is known for its wild and foaming surf, its long sandy beaches and vast dune landscapes. The Kattegat is fram more tranquil and the Limfjord has a wealth of idyllic coves and sounds with islands, sheer cliffs and green forests.

More than any other Danish region, West Jutland is shaped by its geographical surroundings: the vast North Sea, the changing currents of Limfjorden, the extensive Central Jutland heaths and the flat marshes to the south-west. If your dream vacation includes bathing on white sandy beaches, surfing, kite-flying, fishing, golfing, walking in the dunes, culture, fine art, history or just a stroll through one of West Jutlands many friendly provincial towns, then its all here waiting for you!

East Jutlands main city, Århus, is only a short distance away from the wonderful forests and beaches north and south of the city.

In different parts of the rolling, fertile fjord-country of East Jutland you will find beautiful landscapes and a wealth of picturesque provincial towns, each of which has evolved its own distinctive identity. Everywhere you go you find zest for life and a dynamic cultural life.

In South-East and South Jutland you will find a fascinating area of Denmark with its marshland, canals and locks on one side and the rolling hills, forests and smiling fjords on the other.

This regions special location as a national border has frequently been moved north and south over time resulting in a local population that is receptive to new customs and new people. This is felt today in its warm, and open-minded hospitality.
