Denmark Castle & Manor House Self-Drive Tour

This is a self drive tour suggestion. Visit three of Denmark's most delightful Manor House hotels.

Pick up your mid-size rental car in Copenhagen. Time permitting, drive north and visit the Louisiana Museum, Kronborg and Frederiksborg Castles and the village of Helsingor. Stop at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde before taking the ferry from Kalundborg to Aarhus and north towards Aalborg arriving at Store Restrup Manor House and Castle Hotel for dinner and overnight.

You may want to detour north to Skagen an artist's retreat, before visiting Randers and Aarhus on the way to Skanderborg and the Sophiendal Gods Manor House and Castle Hotel. Enjoy dinner and overnight.

You can visit Legoland before crossing the bridge to the island of Funen headed for Faaborg. Explore southern Funen before reaching reaching Hvedholm Slot in Faaborg for dinner and overnight. This magnificent red castle was a royal seat in 1231.

Visit Odense today and the home and museum of Hans Christian Andersen before crossing the bridge back to the island of Sealand and on to Copenhagen. Return your rental car.
