Itinerary

Day 1
Visiting: Stockholm
Accomodation: Esplanade Hotel

Arrive in Stockholm and check into Hotel Esplanade.

Day 2
Visiting: Stockholm

We suggest a morning sightseeing tour by boat as the city is best seen from the water. You can also enjoy the parklands of Djurgarden, an island east of the city offering beautiful surroundings and a concentration of museums. On the western shores of Djurgarden is the famous Vasa Museum, which grants you a look into the lives of 17th century sailors as well as the brilliant achievement in marinology archaeology. You must also visit `Gamla Stan`, old town with it narrow cobblestone streets, many shops and various restaurants. Overnight at Hotel Esplanade.

Day 3
Visiting: Stockholm - Tallberg
Accomodation: Klockargardens Hotell

Pick up your rental car today and head north to the county of Dalarna. Dalarna is one of Sweden`s largest tourist attractions. Overnight at the Klockagardens in the Lake Siljan area, overlooking the lake. This area has remained the most Swedish of all landscapes. It is very picturesque with many living traditions. You might enjoy a race on Lake Siljan between the famous `church boats`, where the small villages compete to arrive first to church. Perhaps you will hear the violin music at any of the many folk music festivals. There are many varied attractions in this area.

Day 4
Visiting: Tallberg
Accomodation: Klockargardens Hotell
Meals: Breakfast

Tallberg is the base for exploring the Lake Siljan region. A must see is Nusnas, where the wellknown Dala horses are made, a symbol not only for Dalarna but for Sweden. At northern end of the lake is the city of Mora, where every year the famous ski race `Vasaloppet` has its finish. More than 10,000 participate in this race in remembrance of the 16th century king Gustaf Wasa who left the Dala people to get help from Norway to conquer rebel the conquering Denmark.

Day 5
Visiting: Tallberg - Stockholm
Accomodation: Esplanade Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

Drive back to Stockholm today at your leisure. Return your rental car and check in at Hotel Esplanade.
