Staying at the ice hotel is a must for the modern adventurer - an experience utterly unlike other hotel stays. Inside, the temperature is never colder than -5 degrees to -8 degrees Celsius, regardless of how cold it may be outside. Unique rooms are decorated with ice art and sculptures. You sleep in a thermal sleeping bag on a special bed of snow and ice, on reindeer skins. Do not forget to visit the Ice Church, the Absolute Ice Bar, and the Ice Sauna!

Itinerary

Day 1
Visiting: New York City - Stockholm
Accomodation: Esplanade Hotel
Meals: Dinner
Fly on Scandinavia Airlines from Newark to Stockholm.
Day 2
Visiting: Stockholm
Accomodation: Esplanade Hotel
Meals: Breakfast
Arrive in Stockholm and transfer on your own by Airport Express train, Airport Bus or taxi to the centrally located Esplanade Hotel. This charming hotel has an excellent location within walking distance to all Stockholm's many sights, shops and restaurants/nightlife.
Day 3
Visiting: Stockholm - Kiruna - Jukkasjarvi
Accomodation: Ice Hotel Sweden
Meals: Breakfast/Dinner
Today you fly from Stockholm to Kiruna. Car transfer from Kiruna Airport to the Ice Hotel. On arrival you will be provided warm winter clothes. A welcome drink at the hotel. Enjoy dinner at The Inn and overnight in the Ice Hotel, in an arctic sleeping bag on reindeer skins. Before bed try a nightcap at the Absolut Bar, all made of ice.
Day 4
Visiting: Jukkasjarvi
Accomodation: Aurora Borealis Cottage
Meals: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Wake up to a warm lingonberry drink and a nice breakfast at The Inn. After a sauna and shower, enjoy a three-and-a-half hour Snowmobile Safari through nearby forests (warm clothes included). Lunch is included. Or visit a reindeer farm and learn about the Sami people where you have lunch in their tepee. Dinner and overnight at nearby Inn.
Day 5
Visiting: Jukkasjarvi - Kiruna - Stockholm
Accomodation: Esplanade Hotel
Meals: Breakfast
Day at leisure for optional activities. Transfer by car to the Kiruna airport for the flight to Stockholm. Transfer on your own to the hotel. The rest of the day at leisure.
Day 6
Visiting: Stockholm
Accomodation: Esplanade Hotel
Meals: Breakfast
Time to explore this beautiful city.
Day 7
Visiting: Stockholm - New York City
Fly to Newark on Scandinavia Airlines.
