Treat yourself to a trip on the beautiful Telemark Canal. Experience the ancient cultural history, the bustling crowds and travel through the locks as people did over 100 years ago. Enjoy the journey from the deck of one of the nostalgic canal boats: m/s Victoria", m/s Henrik Ibsen" or m/s Telemarken".

The Queen of the canal, Victoria", built in 1882, has repeated her journey between coast and mountain for over a hundred years. Despite her old age, Victoria is perfectly suited to the needs of today on her journey through the locks and over beautiful lakes. This traditional vessel can accommodate 180 passengers, whilst the somewhat younger Henrik Ibsen" has room for 220. A few years ago this vessel, which is almost tailor made for the locks, was bought from Sweden, adjusted to suit the canal environment and clothed in Telemarks national costume". Both Victoria and Henrik Ibsen have open decks both fore and aft, so that passengers can fully appreciate the fairytale journey from sea to mountain. During the journey, information is given on everything one sees and enjoys during the sailing trip. On board you can enjoy a delicious dinner or a hot, freshly made waffle, in for example The Ladies saloon" or The Pillar of Society".

Arrive in Oslo on your own. Overnight Thon Hotel Terminus.

Depart in the morning by bus to Amot . The bus terminal is close to your hotel. In Amot, a small village in Vinje, Telemark, you change bus and continue on to Dalen for overnight at Hotel Dalen.

After breakfast take a full day tour on the Telemark Canal from Dalen to Skien. Arrive late afternoon and overnight at Hoyers Hotel in Skien.

Train to Oslo where your tour ends. There are several departure times available.
