You will get familiar with a modern Greenlandic town north of the Polar Circle & experience the unique Disko Bay:

Calving Glaciers & Gigantic Icebergs: Majestic Icebergs are situated in the fiord right outside the town and are experienced at close range on our Midnight Cruises or during full day excursions where we cruise close to the impressive glacier of Eqip.

Isolated Settlements: On other excursions we sail to small and remote settlements, where "the old world" and the Greenlandic hunters are still to be experienced.

Qasigiannguit is located in the eastern corner of the Disko Bay appr. 3 hours south by boat from Ilulissat. It is one of the oldest towns in Greenland and has around 1200 habitants.

Only in Qasigiannguit you get a unique chance to experience the old Thule culture. Project Living Settlement is a group of local volunteers who manufacture tools, leather clothes and household items based on the scientific knowledge of the Thule culture. Women's boat and kayaks are put in the water, and the group wearing inuit clothes gets ready to take their audience on a summer day from a Thule Family in the 1700s. The visitors are invited to play, to participate in work or offered a bite to eat to make an afternoon with “a Thule family”. (The settlement is activated on certain days during the summer)

Beautiful experiences await in the surrounding mountains on the coastline of the Disko Bay. Your Arctic Adventure guide takes you on an included city tour, but the town also offers alternative hikes to for example Tasersuaq lake where the trouts travel through the Eqalunnguit pass during breeding season or to Paradise Bay (Greenlandic: Kangerluluk) a rare sandy beach not far from a dreamy waterfall. You can also enjoy a quiet day visiting the local museum near the harbour famous for its great archeological collection from the Saqqaq inuits (2000 B.C.).
