Punk Hotel

Punkaharjun Valtionhotelli will be opened from the 1st of June until the 31st of August 2013.

With the help of Tsar Nikolai I Punkaharjun Valtionhotelli (Punkaharju State Hotel) was built in the year 1845. It is Finland´s first travellers´ hotel which also consists of the romantic Villa Keisarinna (Empress´ Villa, built in the year 1898).

Punkaharju is a famous ridge area surrounded by Saimaa-lake, which is part of the Finnish "Lake District". Punkaharju Ridge Area is said to be one of the most beautiful places in Finland. Punkaharjun Valtionhotelli is located right on top of the ridge, about 200 m from the lake.

The hotel has 24 rooms in two different buildings. The Main Building has 9 Standard Twin rooms, 3 Single rooms and the Marital Suite Frederika. The reception is in the Main Building. Villa Keisarinna has 3 Superior Double rooms, 1 Standard Double room and 7 Classic Twin rooms (3 of them without toilet and shower which are in the corridor). All the rooms have a tv. Villa Keisarinna is located near the lake, about 150 meters by foot or 400 meters by car from the Main Building. Both buildings have a free parking place. The breakfast is served in the restaurant in the Main Building (MON-SAT 7.30-10.30, SUN 8-10.30).

The hotel also has 15 small summer cottages about 300 meters from the Main Building, in beautiful natural lake surroundings.
