Margretetorps Gastgifvaregard

Margretetorps Gästgivaregård has for centuries been a resting place for travellers on the famous thoroughfare across the Halland Ridge. It became well-known as early as 1652, the year in which Queen Kristina laid down the statutes for hostelries and coaching inns. Margretorp has been faithfully restored and is today a hotel of the highest class, as well as one of the most beautiful in the whole of Sweden. The hotel is a beautiful half-timbered building, with beamed ceilings in every bedroom. The rooms all have their own private entrance off one of two paved inner courtyards prettily planted with flowers. The inn's culinary traditions are lovingly maintained to this day and its legendary "smorgåsbord" is served daily.

Location

The inn is situated on the edge of a lovely beech wood, affording a choice for delightful walks. There are a large number of golf courses nearby. Gym, sauna, solarium, driving range, and putting greens are all available for our guests. Shooting parties can be arranged.

The Inn is located on the southern slopes of the Halland Ridge, on the Skåne side of the provincial border, 3 km from Ängelholm Airport.
