Isifjord Radio

Kapp Linné is a beautiful and peaceful place, far from civilisation and facing the open Arctic Ocean. The radio station Isfjord Radio offers charming rooms, a warm lounge and a dining room. Isfjord Radio was previously the hub for all telecommunication with the mainland. Automated for the last few years it was recently replaced by broadband connections with the Norwegian

mainland.

The hosts Helga and Stein do their best to ensure that you have a nice stay with good food, and exciting activities in the local area. Kapp Linné is open from March to May. In the Summer time on request.

During Winter, the combination of sea, ice and mountains makes Kapp Linné an exciting destination. It is a very special feeling travelling along the coast surrounded by drift ice with the most fascinating ice formations. Sometimes there are polar bears on the shore, and in spring sea birds flock to the area. Another recommended tour is a snowmobile trip from Longyearbyen to Kapp Linné. The area around the station is excellent for day trips.

Room Info

Kapp Linné offers accomodation in 19 rooms with a total of 32 beds, placed in three different buildings; Hovedstasjonen, Gammelstasjonen and Polarbrakka. There is also a bar at Kapp Linné.
