Inn Gammel Tammen

Gammeltammen

Wärdshuset Gammeltammen is an estate from the 1700s located in an authentic ironworks industry community with charming surroundings. Iron processing, from mine to completed product, is still visible in these unique environments. Guided tours of Dannemora mine and Walloon smithery, which are the only such preserved in the world, provide historic glimpses into Sweden's age as a world power, industrial nation, and exporter of iron. Bruno Liljefors lived at Österbybruk manorhouse for 15 years, and his studio can be visited from May to September. A drink with the castle ghosts is a popular feature during dinners. Many other interesting activities are also available. The inn's dining rooms accommodate up to 70 people and the estate's large banquet room can host up to 120. Family celebrations and company parties can be arranged here for both large and small groups. In summer, there is an a la carte restaurant.
