That extraordinary spectacle of the northern sky, the Northern Lights, is never far away at the Aurora Chalet. The green flickering of the winter sky also features strongly in the hotel's accommodation and layout: every hotel room has special windows for viewing the colourful display. Even the ambience of our restaurant is enlivened by panoramic windows facing north. Location

At Luosto you are in the middle of Lapland. You can enjoy all the services of a modern fell centre yet still be truly out in the wilds.

Luosto has seven ski slopes and three lifts, along with the other facilities required by skiers. It has well-managed ski trails totalling 74 kilometres, 25 kilometres of which are lit. There are also marked trails for summer hikers in the region. The new Pyhä-Luosto National Park in the process of being established will enhance the hiking potential even further.

The transport system consists mainly of the service to and from Rovaniemi for Finnair flights, the SkiBus feeder connecting up with most of the trains and long-distance coaches (four times a day in winter and once a day in summer), the local SkiBus service and taxis. These are supplemented in the spring season by a feeder operating twice a day from Sodankylä.
