Take the train through the inland of Sweden from Dalarna in the south, to Lapland in the north. Experience the nature with waterfalls, big forests and see elks and the reindeers outside the train window. Enjoy the light summer night, meet other people on their way north. Just before Jokkmokk we are crossing the Arctic Circle. The package includes journey on the Inlandsbanan and overnight stays at predetermined places and a number of eventful happenings. Accommodation in middle class hotel.

Itinerary

Arrival in Stockholm on your own and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Hotel Nordic Sea or similar.

Afternoon departure with regular train (SJ) from Stockholm with arrival in Mora Central. Transfer to the Hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Mora.

In the morning you can make a visit the house or museum of the famous painter Anders Zorn. Or visit the museum of the famous ski race Vasaloppet. Afternoon departure with Inlandsbanan from Mora to Östersund. Some food, coffee and sights stops during the day. Arrival in Östersund Västra. Arrival in the evening and overnight stay at hotel in Östersund.

You have the whole day in Östersund to explore the city at the Lake Storsjön. Entrance to the museum of Jamtli where the history comes alive. Rent a car, see the surroundings, visit the Moose Garden and meet the tame Elks.

Early morning departure from Östersund. Enjoy the wilderness along the way. During the journey there will a coffee stop. Midday arrival in Vilhelmina. In Vilhelmina you can visit the Church Town which dates back to the late 19th century and is a living “small town” of its own in the center of the town of Vilhelmina Overnight stay at Hotel Wilhelmina

Lunchtime departure from Vilhelmina. Afternoon arrival in Arvidsjaur. In Arvidsjaur you can for example go on a stem train ride (if you arrive here Friday or Saturday at the end of July or beginning of August) or make a visit in Lappstaden and explore the life of the Sámi people. Overnight stay at hotel Laponia in Arvidsjaur.

Afternoon departure from Arvidsjaur to Gällivare via the Arctic Circle where we stop and get a certificate. During the day, there will be food and coffee stops. After arrival in Gällivare in the late evening, we continue to the peak of Dundret to watch the Midnight sun until the beginning of August. Overnight stay at Grand Hotel Lapland in Gällivare.

After breakfast and check out there are homeward journey according to your booking. The Inland Railway card is still valid for some days if you want to go back on the Inland Railway.
