The city is situated at the northernmost point of the 100 kms long Oslo Fiord and here you can soak in the beauty of the Vigeland Park, the Royal Castle, the City Hall, the Parliament Building, the Bygdøy Peninsula with its inspiring museums, the Akerhus Fortress, Aker Brygge and many other interesting sights

Say hello to a bunch of friendly barking huskies that are ready for action and drive the dog sled yourself into the white landscapes, through the beautiful Vass Valley. The trails you follow have a total distance of approximately 15 km and the area where you lead the sled is totally uninhabited, with mountains and forest landscape. You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each sled, with opportunity to switch places half way. At the end of your trail you will return to Camp Tamok, where you will be served a hot meal in a lavvu (Sami herdsmen’s tent). The tour terminates at 16.00 at the meetingpoint. Please note that the dog sledding activity is somewhat physically demanding. Evening free for leisure. Please see optional excursions below.

Day 4     Tromso
Accommodation: Scandic Ishavshotel
Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. This morning we recommend a regular Whale Watching Safari (not included in the package price, please ask about optional tours). Walk to the meeting point at Radisson BLU Hotel to start your tour at 09.00. Depending on where we can spot the whales, we will departure by boat from Tromsø harbor or we have a bus transfer, to give you the best opportunity to spot the whales. We cannot give any guaranty that we will see whales, but the chances are very good as humpbacks and orcas come close to the coastline to feed during the winter season. They often come close to the boat as they are very curious, so be prepared for big splashes. Remember to bring your camera, and you could take the shot of your life, not just of whales, but also of other wildlife like seals or sea eagles. Return to the hotel and rest before next adventure begins In the evening it’s time to chase the northern lights with the Aurora Top Comfort Tour. At 6.00pm you will be picked up at your hotel and drive out looking for a cozy spot. There we will light a bonfire and together we will send a ballon-message to the Auroras. If the weather allows, we have a surprise, we will make some magic with fire! A professional photographer will make all his experience available, for you to learn the best possible photographic techniques to capture the northern lights. Around midnight we will return to your hotel.

Day 5     Tromso

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. The day is free for different activities or shopping in or around the cozy City of Tromsø. Perhaps you may want to include an activity (please ask about options).

A viewing deck, heated lounge and delicious traditional fish meal makes this a very civilized and comfortable way to see the Northern Lights. Guests are picked up at the hotel by the local guide and the 4 wheel drive Toyota Rav4. The tour takes you through scenic landscape, mountains and coastline. This is a unique tour opportunity that truly takes you out in the wild.

Reindeer Raid With Hot Meal

Reindeer sledding is the oldest form of transport in the north, and an ancient part of Sami culture. You will be driving in pairs, with one sled for each reindeer. People of all ages can participate on this very “soft” adventure. This cultural adventure includes trying lasso-throwing, the way the Sami people still today catch their reindeers when they are rounded up for marking or slaughter. Also, you will learn about Sami culture and history.

To conclude this excursion, you will be served a hot meal. Daytime trips give you an amazing view of the wild mountains in the area, and evening trips in the period November - March will give you a good chance to experience the Northern Lights

Snowmobile Adventure

You need no previous skills to drive a snowmobile, all you need is normal physical condition. We begin with a thorough safety introduction. The trail has a distance of 15 km each way, 30 km in total. The starting point is at 250 m above sea level, and the guide brings you up to 875 m.  You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with opportunity to switch places during the trip.

Due to the dramatic topography, a reduced speed is held during parts of the tour. The top point of the trail is a frozen lake, where you can speed up. If time and weather permit, you can try out ice fishing on this lake. At the end of the trip, you will be served a hot meal in a lavvu (Sami tent).
