Cycle virtually all the way around Fyn (Funen) and as far as possible follow the coastal stretches between the charming towns. After each day's leg, you stay in some of the best hotels on Fyn, in the coastal towns which all have strong maritime traditions and such delights as old well-preserved wooden ships.

Itinerary

Stay at a centrally located city-hotel in walking distance to all major sights. Visit the house of the fairy-tale writer Hans Christian Andersen and the open-air museum, Den Fynske Landsby, showing centuries of peasant life.

From Odense the trip goes north. At Langeso Manor you should take a break by the lovely lake of the same name. The day ends in Middelfart, also known as the town of bridges. Accommodation in the beautiful Hindsgavl Manor.

The day's trip takes you past the biggest estate on Fyn, Wedellsborg. The estate itself is beautifully located in a huge deer park, formed by the woods of the peninsula. Continue to Assens, where the cobbled pedestrian streets of the town with their half-timbered buildings have previously been awarded a prize as the most beautiful in Denmark. Accommodation.

Today ride through the "Alps of Fyn", with their familiar moraine landscape at Svanninge Bakker. The Art Museum of Fyn in Faaborg is well worth a visit for anyone interested in art. Accommodation.

The ride today shows Southern Fyn from its most beautiful side, with views over the South Fyn Archipelago. A detour to Aero is recommended (the ferry ticket is included in the price). Accommodation.

A castle day. Start with a detour to Valdemar Castle on Tasinge, and then the trip continues past various manor houses and finishes at Nyborg, which has the oldest royal castle in the Nordic countries. Accommodation.

Cycle along route 40 to the charming fishing town of Kerteminde and the maritime center of Fjord & Baelt - go underwater, or enjoy the art at the Johannes Larsen Museum. The trip continues into the center of Odense. Accommodation.

The trip ends after breakfast in the hotel in Odense. If time permits, remember to visit the newly renovated Hans Christian Andersen House or the Odense Zoo, both in the city center.
