This multi day tour is for the snowmobiling junkies, where we head up to the highlands to play with snowmobiles for a couple of days with the isolated mountain hut Midgard as our base.

Itinerary

Reykjavik – Snowmobile - Midgard

We pick you up at your hotel and head for the wilderness. It is time to set your mind free and get ready for the remote Icelandic highlands. We drive through the beautiful Þjórsárdalur valley by super jeep, and cross the Sprengisandur plateau to our destination for the next days, Midgard. If conditions allow, we travel the last stretch by snowmobiles (20-30km). Our hut is warmed up by a fireplace, which adds to that special mountain feeling. The evening is used for relaxation, story-telling in front of the fireplace, playing cards and enjoying a typical Icelandic barbecue.

Midgard is the perfect place for spotting Northern lights, as there is no light pollution whatsoever to interfere.  Overnight in mountain hut.

Snowmobile Excursion.

Today it is time to push that throttle. Midgard is located between two glaciers, but in winter we will not even be able to distinguish between glacier and ground as everything will be covered in white, making this the picture perfect Winter Wonderland. We will journey further into the untouched highlands, through frozen lakes and snow covered mountains. The super jeeps will be within reach for safety, if you get cold, or if you want to take a break from the snowmobiling. This is a day of action where you will learn all about pure Icelandic mountaineering. Today's snowmobile route is roughly 40 – 50 km. Overnight in mountain hut.

Midgard – Reykjavik.

After breakfast, we pack our belongings and head out. We jump on our snowmobiles for the last time and head towards our trailers (20 – 30 km). The super jeeps do the job the rest of the way as we visit the famous Golden circle on the way back to Reykjavík; Geysir, Gullfoss and Þingvellir National Park.
