Day 1     Oslo
Accommodation: Thon Hotel Bristol

Arrival to Oslo Airport Gardermoen. Pick-up your rental car and drive to the centre of the city. We recommend a visit to the famous Vigeland sculpture park, the Viking-ship Museum where the best preserved Viking ships ever found are on display, the Fram Museum where the entire original Arctic exploration ship Fram is exhibited with its original interior and inventory, the Kon-tiki Museum which contains original vessels and objects from Thor Heyerdal’s many expeditions or one of the many other interesting sights in Oslo.

Day 2     Oslo - Telemark Region - Rysstad

OSLO – THE TELEMARK REGION – RYSSTAD (302 KM)

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning departure from Oslo and travel through the region of Telemark. Its natural scenery, reliable climate and rich cultural traditions make Telemark one of Norway’s most popular holiday destinations. Telemark is world famous for the skiing technique of the same name. Stop en route to visit the wooden stave church in Heddal (not included), the largest of Norway’s surviving stave churches, the oldest part of the church, the chancel, dates back to 1147. Continue to Rysstad and Sølvgården Hotell, located in the idyllic Setesdal Valley, where you can unwind in serene surroundings and enjoy the magnificent scenery close to the River Otra.

Day 3     Rysstad - Stavanger - Sandnes

RYSSTAD – STAVANGER REGION (175 KM)

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive via Sinnes and Ålgård to Sandnes. Make a detour to Stavanger where we suggest a tour through the city centre and a visit to the Old Stavanger. Pass the royal residence and manor house, Breidablikk, before continuing on to Hafrsfjord, past the monument the Three Swords, the symbol of the unification of Norway into one kingdom. Enjoy the beautiful view from the Ullandhaugtårnet, from which you can see the city and all the way to Ryfylke. Stop also at the Stavanger cathedral dating from 1125.

Day 4     Stavanger - Bergen

STAVANGER REGION – BERGEN (223 KM)

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast continue your tour via Stavanger and take the ferry from Mortavika to Arsvågen (not included). Drive via Aksdal and Leirvik and take the ferry from Sandvikvåg to Halhjem (not included) and continue to the old Hanseatic town, Bergen, capital of Western Norway and gateway to the fjords. We recommend a tour of Bergen; visit the Fish and Flower Market, the old harbour of Bryggen, and the Hanseatic quarters. It is possible to take a ride on the funicular up to Mount Fløien to admire the magnificent views over the city and the surroundings.

Day 5     Bergen - Flam

BERGEN – FLÅM (169 KM)

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning you will drive through some of the most magnificent scenery to be found on the west coast of Norway. Leave Bergen along the beautiful Sørfjorden to the town of Voss. Stop to view the enchanting Tvindefoss Waterfall, believed to be the source of eternal youth, before the breathtaking ascent to Stalheim, with incredible views of the surrounding mountain peaks and the Nærøy Valley and continue to Gudvangen. From Gudvangen start your cruise along the narrow Aurlands and Nærøy Fjords, both branches of the Sogn Fjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of cascading waterfalls, sheer mountain cliffs, snow-clad peaks, and a variety of wildlife. Disembark in Flåm and check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, board the Flåm train for an exhilarating ride on the amazing Flåm Railway to Myrdal, a masterpiece of engineering ascending 2.838 feet in less than one hour. The descent from Myrdal to Flåm offers opportunities for photo shots of exciting waterfalls and mountain scenery.

Day 6     Flam - Honefoss
Accommodation: Comfort Hotel Ringerike

FLÅM – HØNEFOSS (416 KM)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Flåm and continue the journey by passing through the Lærdal tunnel, which is one of the longest tunnels in the world with 24,5 km. Stop to see the Borgund Stavechurch (entrance not included), from around 1100 and very well preserved. Continue across the Filefjell Mountains and through the region of Valdres to Dokka and further on to Lillehammer. Lillehammer is the main town in the county of Oppland and was Winter Olympic City in 1994. Visit the Maihaugen Open-air Museum, one of Europe´s largest. Continue the tour to Hønefoss in the Ringerike area. If there is enough time, we recommend a visit to the Hadeland Glassverk in Jevnaker, a famous glass production company and beautiful recreational area with possibility to buy Norwegian glassworks.
