Itinerary

 
Day 1     Vilnius
Accommodation: Radisson Blu Astorija Hotel

Arrival in Vilnius. Arrival transfer to your hotel. Check-in at the hotel. 7:00 p.m. welcome meeting at the hotel where you will be greeted by your tour guide.

Overnight at Radisson SAS Astorija Hotel or similar.

 
Day 2     Vilnius - Trakai
Accommodation: Radisson Blu Astorija Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch

9:00 a.m. a city tour of Vilnius, capital of Lithuania for more than 600 years. The tour includes: St.Peter and Paul's Church, Gediminas Castle, Cathedral Square, St. Ann and Bernardines Church, the Gates of Dawn with a holy image of the Virgin Mary, Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit, Town Hall Square and Vilnius University (founded in 1579) with St.John's Church. Lunch in a restaruant in city center.

Afternoon trip to Trakai, the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Visit to the insular castle of the 14th century, erected on a small island in Lake Galve. Return to Vilnius around 6.00pm.

 
Day 3     Vilnius - Trakai - Druskininkai
Accommodation: Regina Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

Leisure time in Vilnius. 12:00 p.m. departure for Druskininkai. Stop in Grutas village for a visit to Grutas Park an open-air exhibition of the Soviet era sculptures and monuments. Arrival in Druskininkai, check-in at the hotel.

City tour of Druskininkai, the oldest health resort in Lithuania. The pride of the town is its mineral springs. In 1794 the king of Poland and Lithuania announced a decree officially designating Druskininkai as a health resort. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight at Regina Hotel or similar.

 
Day 4     Druskininkai - Kaunas
Accommodation: Radisson Neris Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

Morning at leisure in Druskininkai. Try a mineral bath or massage to revitalize your mind, body and spirit at the spa center (not included).

11.30 a.m. departure for Kaunas, former temporary capital of Lithuania between two world wars. A short city tour of Kaunas upon arrival around 3pm. The tour inclused ruins of the castle, Town Hall Square with its impressive monuments, visit to the Cathedral, waking along the old town with original old architecture and pedestrian Laisves Avenue, now housing cosy cafes, bars and souvenir shops. The tour continues to the Pazaslis Church and Monestary, outstanding gems of the Baroque style in the entire region of Easter Europe. Overnight at Reval Neris Hotel or similar.

 
Day 5     Kaunas - Juodkrante - Nida
Accommodation: Nerija Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch

9:00 a.m. departure for Nida. Ferry trip to the Curonian Spit. Drive to Kopgalis for a visit to the Sea Museum, located in a 19th century fortress. It comprises exhibitions of marine nature and history of navigation. Tour in the Neringa National Park on the Curonian Spit separating the Baltic Sea from the Curonian Lagoon is an unforgettable trip to the beautiful wild nature with sand dunes, pine forests and golden beaches. Arrival in Juodkrante, lunch in a local restaurant. Visit the Hill of Witches which houses a hundred fanciful and folksy wooden sculptures scattered along a forest path.

Continue to Nida. Overnight in Hotel Nerija or similar.

 
Day 6     Nida - Curonian Spit
Accommodation: Nerija Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

At 9.00am combined coach and walking tour of Nida resort including the Fisherman's House, famous German writer Thomas Mann's House, the Amber Gallery, the old ethnographic cemetery, neo-gothic church and a walk along impressive sand dunes.

 
Day 7     Nida
Accommodation: Nerija Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

Leisure time. Nida is an old fishing village on the Curonian Spit. Today Nida is the largest settlement of the town of Neringa and one of the most beautiful resorts in Lithuania. You can choose from a variety of activities such as water sports and cycling.

 
Day 8     Nida - Vente - Klaipeda
Accommodation: Promenade Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch

11:00 a.m. departure by boat from Nida to the Nemunas River Delta Regional Park.

En route stop in Uostadvaris. Visit of the lighthouse built in 1876 and the oldest water lifting station in Lithuania, nowadays a Polder Museum. Continue to Kintai settlement passing the Minija village called the Lithuanian Veni¬ce, where the River Mini¬ja serves as the main street. Lunch at the restaurant at Kintai, tasting of local fish dishes.

3:00 p.m. departure by coach to the Vente Horn. Visit of the ornithological station and the 19th century. 5.30 p.m. arrival in Klaipeda. Check-in at the hotel.

 
Day 9     Klaipeda - Palanga
Accommodation: Promenade Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

9.00am a city tour of Klaipeda, the main seaport of Lithuania including the Theatre Square and Old Town.

11.30am departure to Palanga, the biggest seaside resort in Lithuania. A city tour includes the visit to the Botanical Garden and the Amber Museum in the Palace of Count Tyszkiewicz with over 25,000 pieces of amber and 15000 inclusions of insects on display. Return to Klaipeda
