Itinerary

 
Day 1     Bergen
Accommodation: Bergen Bors Hotel

Arrival to Bergen Airport, meet & greet by Borealis Destination Management English-speaking representative, for Regular Arrival Transfer Service to the hotel* for check-in (Please see notes below for this service). Please consult the Borealis Destination Management welcome letter,which you will receive on check-in to your hotel, and kindly note where and when to meet your tour leader. Day is at leisure.

 
Day 2     Bergen
Accommodation: Bergen Bors Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel and free morning. Please be in the hotel’s reception area at 2.00pm, to meet your tour escort and receive information on the upcoming tour program.At 3.00pm we depart by private coach with a local guide for a 2-hour panoramic sightseeing tour.Enjoy a pleasant walk through the typical Bryggen quarter with the characteristic buildings, with pointed gables facing the harbor, St. Mary’s Church and the colorful fish markets, where all specialities from northern Scandinavia, like salmon and king crabs are sold. We will also delight in Haakon’s Hall (entrance excluded) before ending back at the hotel. Evening is at leisure

 
Day 3     Bergen - Voss - Flam - Loen
Accommodation: Clarion Sign Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure from Bergen and travel to the historic town of Voss, with a stunning background of snow clad mountains.Here we board a train,which will take us across the mountain plateau to Myrdal where we change to the World famous Flam railway, the highlight of the day. Experience one of the most spectacular rail journeys, descending down from the Mountain station of Myrdal to the quaint fjord village of Flam. Here we have some free time before embarking onto the afternoon ferry, which will carry us on a breath-taking crossing along the Aurland & Neroy fjords, which are branches of the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in Norway. The coast offers very strong contrasts, sometimes you will experience rocks falling dramatically into the fjord while other stretches of the river turn into a wonderful green. Disembarkation in Gudvangen and continuation in coach, through one of the largest tunnels of Norway. We continue our journey through Lærdal and Skei until we reach Loen, beautifully situated between mountains, lakes and fjords. Dinner and overnight at the prestigious hotel Alexandra. Day 4     Loen - Briksdal - Geiranger
Accommodation: Union Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

Breakfast at the hotel.

OPTIONAL EXCURSION ($80 per person): Briksdal Glacier, an arm of Europe’s largest Glacier Jostedalsbreen. After arriving at Briksdal Glacier, we will make a visit to the foot of the glacier, travelling by small motorized “Troll cars” and walking through Norwegian nature to the very snout of the glacier. Here we experience the glacier’s breathtaking blue ice. After the visit, there will be free time for lunch atyour own discretion. THIS EXCURSION MUST BE PRE-BOOKED WITH TRAVEL BOOKING TO ENSURE ITS IMPLEMENTATION.

Passengers not joining the optional excursion, who prefer to enjoy the hotel and its facilities, will be picked up at around 4.00.

We leave Loen and continue our journey through the wonderful Norwegian mountains to the famous point of Dalsnibba, an observation point located 1.476 meters above sea level, with a spectacular view of the famous Geiranger Fjord, UNESCO World Heritage. (The visit to Dalsnibba is subject to climate permission -cannot be guaranteed). Once our visit to Dalsnibba is finished, we continue our journey downward to Geiranger for check-in at our hotel. Before dinner,a special tour of the Veteran car collection of The Mjelva family is offered.A number of these beautiful cars were used to show tourists around the Geiranger area in the 1920’s and 1930’s and they are still in excellent condition.Dinner at the hotel is included. Day 5     Geiranger
Accommodation: Union Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning we will take the ferry, crossing the dramatic and ever so impressive, UNESCO’sWorld Heritage listed, Geiranger Fjord, situated amongstlush mountains and wild waterfalls. Travel from Geiranger to Hellesylt and be inspired by this beautiful unspoiled landscape. After disembarkingin Hellesylt, we travel north to Trollstigen or Troll’s path, one of the most dramatic and visited areas in Norway.Travel the 11 hairpin turns on this stunning stretch of road that winds its way alongjust over 100km of incredible landscape (Weather permitting as road closures can occur). Lunch stop in-route (not included).In the late afternoon,wearriveback at the hotel. Dinner at the hotel is included

 
Day 6     Geiranger - Lom - Oslo
Accommodation: Continental Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure by coach to the capital Oslo. We travel via Lom, where we can admire the oldest wooden church in Norway, which dates from the 12th Century. Late in the afternoon,we arrive in Oslo and check-in to the hotel.

 
Day 7     Oslo
Accommodation: Continental Hotel
Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, we will embark on a 3-hour city sightseeing tour in the Norwegian Capital, beautifully situated by the fjord. We will enjoy the view from the Opera house before heading off to Bygdoy Island. Here we will visit one of the most popular museums, the Viking Ship Museum (entrance included); Vigeland’s Park, one of the major Scandinavian cultural treasures, the Royal Palace and the main street, Karl Johan. Free afternoon

 
Day 8     Oslo
Meals: Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel. A Borealis Destination Management English-speaking representative will meet you for the Regular Transfer Serviceto Oslo Airport*(Please see notes below for this service).
