Day 3     Aarhus - Skorping
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave Aarhus and drive north towards Aalborg. We recommend a detour to the open-air Museum of Hjerl Hede, presenting the Danish rural history through workshops, houses etc. We also recommend a tour to Viborg which is one of Denmarks oldest cities with tracks all the way back from ancient times. The Jutland tribes came to Viborg in the Viking times, to trade and settle disputes. Viborg means "Holy Mountain". Traders, warriors, craftsmen, pilgrims and adventurers came walking, riding and running with horses and oxen to take further along the Ancient Road to the major trading places and shrines in the south. Until the introduction of absolute monarchy in 1660, all Danish kings hailed at the thing in Viborg, and noble gentleman men and Catholic bishops adorned the city with monumental buildings, including the characteristic cathedral with two towers. We recommend a walk around the city to see Latinerhaven, Viborg Cathedral and Borgvold which is a beautiful, romantic park with winding paths, bridges over streams and colorful beds of summer flowers. In the park you can use the large playground and rent rowboats, canoes and paddle boats. By Golf Salonen puts the good ship "Margrethe I". After your visit to Viborg, continue to the hotel in Skørping. Comwell Sport Rebild Bakker is located in the middle of the most beautiful of National Parks, Himmerland, south of the Lime Fjord. Here you can rent gear to play tennis or test your strength on the multi course. Take a dip in the indoor pool, go in the steam room, cold water bath, or sauna. Dinner at the hotel in the evening.

Day 4     Skorping - Aalborg
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

Breakfast at the hotel and day free to enjoy the surrounding areas of the hotel. We also recommend a full day excursion to the unique North of Jutland, starting with Skagen, with the numerous attractions. This region is famous, not only for the extremely diverse landscape and many hours of sun, but also for the unique light and nature created by the influence of 3 seas – the North Sea, Skagerrak and Kattegat. Among the highlights are the Sanded Church, the moving dune of Råbjerg Mile, the village of Skagen, former home of a colony of well-known artists such as Krøyer, Ancher, Drachmann and Tuxen, and finally Grenen, the northernmost part where the seas meet in a dramatic dance, especially on windy days. Here you can join in a tour with the popular “Sandworm” (not included - cash payment in DKK) with is a wagon, pulled by a tractor. On the way back to the hotel, you may also want to visit Aalborg. We warmly recommend a visit to the ‘Kildeparken’. ‘Kilden’, as the locals always call it, is one of the oldest parks in Aalborg. Take a walk in the scenic surroundings and observe some classical pieces of work by famous sculptors, as well as the ‘Park of music’, consisting of more than 80 trees planted by artists such as Sir Elton John, Bryan Adams and ZZ Top. Several of the trees can be activated so that the tones from the artist who planted the tree float from the speakers in the park. You can also visit The Franciscan Monastery Museum, located 3 meters underground of one of the busiest shopping streets in Aalborg (not included - cash payment in DKK). Learn about the history and the excavation of the Franciscan Monastery, as well as the life of the friars in medieval Aalborg. Afterwards, drive back to the hotel. Dinner is on own today to enjoy at your preferred destination/restaurant.

Day 5     Skorping - Middelfart
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive south via Silkeborg to the city Middelfart. In the Silkeborg region, you will find the River Gudenå and the largest concentration of lakes in Denmark. The water not only contributes to the area's unique character, but also invites to outdoor activities such as canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing. A natural highlight is, of course, Himmelbjerget (literally “Sky Mountain”). Standing at 147 metres above sea level, it protrudes into the landscape, and can be seen for miles, from land and water alike. You can get there by car, bike or on foot, and you can also sail there on board the world’s oldest paddle steamer, Hjejlen, which offer available tours in the summer months. Leave Silkeborg behind and continue driving south, this time we recommend a detour to Horsens to visit the newly opened Prison Museum (not included) to add a new take to your relaxed countryside-tour: The Prison Museum contains the world’s largest prison collection from the Museum of Horsens. Walking through the old state penitentiary’s historic buildings, the museum portrays the 153 years of prison life as seen by both inmates and prison personnel. If you want to, an extra night can be added here at the Prison Museum where you will be sleeping in a real prison cell with bunk beds and no toilets. After an exciting day and afternoon, cross the bridge to Funen and continue towards Middelfart. In the evening, enjoy a relaxed dinner at the hotel, while having great views over the Little Belt Strait.

Afterwards, drive to Kværndrup and Egeskov Castle (included) which is the best preserved water fortress in the world with its rounded towers, double gables, red brick walls, green torrents and spire. It is built on a foundation of oak piles rammed into a bed of a lake more than 450 years ago, and still stands beautiful today. Visit the Great Hall which dates back to 1554 and contains furniture and paintings as well as seven adjoining rooms. Enjoy the 40 acres park with hundreds of aromatic plants and herbs and visit the old-timers Museum. Visit the Viking Ship Museum (included), containing the remains of 5 Viking vessels which have been salvaged from the bed of Roskilde Fjord, where they were sunk more than a thousand years ago to prevent aggressive intruders gaining access to the town from the sea. After visiting the museum, a short drive to the Town Square, where we recommend a visit to the twin-spired Roskilde Cathedral (not included).
