Itinerary

WELCOME TO LAPLAND ! 

This is the arrival day to Lapland.  Our guides meet you at the airport and take you to our safari house located in the city office to get the thermal clothing for the whole stay in Rovaniemi. You will be provided with all the information concerning your stay. Later on you will be transferred to your cottage.  

The dinner will be served in the restaurant Thulia in Ounasvaaran Pirtit.

Breakfast in restaurant Thulia – Pirtit . Our guide pick you up and we will get ready for our first adventure! 

THRILL OF SPEED WITH 2 H HUSKY SAFARI 

At the farm, you meet lovely and loud huskies and smaller puppies. You of course also enjoy an exciting speedy ride with huskies in the wintry forest. After the husky ride the musher invite you indoors to tell you more stories about these strong racing dogs and about their life in the arctic conditions. In the meanwhile you may enjoy hot beverages and biscuits around the open fire. The dogs will take you for a 2 h ride in the white covered forest.  Duration:   4 hours 

Includes: overalls, guide, transfers, visit of the husky farm, 1,30 -2h ride, hot juice, biscuits.  We return to the city and free time for lunch. (lunch not included in the package price)  Rest of the afternoon free time at your leisure. Return transfer to your accommodation in afternoon.

SEARCHING NORTHEN LIGHT BY SNOWMOBILE 

By snowmobiles we will head along the forest trails to hidden Lappish teepee which is located at the middle of snowy winter forest. When we reach the Lappish teepee we will have a break with snacks and hot beverages around the open fire. Guide will tell you stories about the magical northern lights and if we are lucky you also might see dancing northern lights on the starry sky... With new arctic experiences we will start our snowmobiles and head back to city center. The Safari is operated with 2 persons/snowmobile taking turns in driving.  Children will be traveling in a sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Possibility to have a single snowmobile with the supplement.   Duration:   3 hours . Includes: overalls, snowmobile safari 2 persons/snowmobile, instructions, 20-30 km driving, fried sausages, hot drinks. Guiding in English.

After breakfast, guide meets you at the reception and we get ready to live a day that visitors in Lapland all dream of.  

ARCTIC DELIGHT – SANTA AND HIS REINDEER 

Come and discover the secrets of Santa Claus and his trusted helpers! We start the day by taking a car to the Santa Claus Village at the Arctic Circle. Meet Mr. Father Christmas himself and take your time to visit Santa’s Official Post Office where letters from all around the world arrive to get sorted. Do some shopping in the many village shops before enjoying a buffet lunch in one of the restaurants. After lunch, we grab our helmets and head for the snowmobiles. After a short instruction in snowmobiling, we make our way to a local reindeer farm. Meet Santa’s trusted helpers – the reindeer, and try a short reindeer sleigh ride. Taking part in a special “Crossing of the Arctic Circle” ceremony highlights the magical day. Return back to the city by snowmobiles with many new experiences and stories to tell back home. Crossing the Arctic Circle Certificate is given to you as a gift at the end of the safari.  Duration:   6 hours  .  

Includes:   Winter clothing, snowmobile instructions and snowmobile safari 2 persons/ one snowmobile, driving approx. 20-30 km, visit to local reindeer farm, short reindeer sleigh ride and reindeer driving license, ceremony and Crossing of the Arctic Circle Certificate, hot drinks, visit to Santa’s Village by car, meeting with Santa Claus, lunch buffet and guiding in English

A festive dinner will be served in a restaurant and of course the highlight of the evening is the visit of Santa Claus   himself! Evening includes: Festive Christmas buffet, visit of Santa.

EXCURSION TO WILDLIFE PARK RANUA 

Ranua Wildlife Park lays deep in an Arctic forest an hour drive away from Rovaniemi.  It hosts a home for approximately 50 other species and 200 arctic animals such as polar  bears, lynxes, foxes and numerous birds, wild boars and elks, just to mention few. During the  guided tour around the Park we become acquainted with the animals and their lives at the arctic  conditions. Watch the wolves on their guard of their territory; see the polar bear couple Venus and Manasse in their daily routines of bathing in a frozen pond and playing with car tyres! Buffet lunch served in the main building and we also have time to visit Fazer’s sweetshop before returning to Rovaniemi.  Duration:   6 hours.
